Sunstone in Norwalk, California Surrounds You with Fun
Jul. 27, 2015
One of the reasons you’re considering a townhome at Sunstone in Norwalk, California, is because you lead an active lifestyle. You can’t be bothered with mowing the lawn, painting the siding, and the million other tasks that owning a single-family home entails. You like the idea of paying a monthly fee to have all external maintenance taken care of. But you’re a bit concerned that you won’t have a backyard in which you and your family can relax and play.
You don’t have to worry in this community, which boasts a shaded structure, play equipment, barbecue grills, and picnic tables in an open space. If that isn’t enough, just cross Pioneer Boulevard to enjoy the acreage at Little Lake Park. Aside from playing fields and formal picnic areas, the park has wading pools, playgrounds, handball courts, baseball fields and basketball courts. After you move in, come to the Get Acquainted Cookouts held on occasional Fridays at the park so you can meet your neighbors. In the summers, the wading pools hold night swims until 7 PM for your little ones.
If you’d rather confine your activity to the indoors, then Rivera Park, which is only about nine minutes away by car, includes an indoor gym. This facility also has meeting rooms, a multipurpose auditorium and batting cages so you can practice your swings. Nearby private gyms include the Elite MMA Academy for classes in boxing and kickboxing, and Spirit Gymnastics, which offer gymnastics lessons, particularly for the kids.
All exercise and no shopping makes Jack an unfashionable boy, so you’ll be glad to know that many shopping centers are within a few minutes drive. Santa Fe Springs Mall is anchored by a Target and a Marshalls. Just across the parking lot looms the discount delights of a Walmart Supercenter. For groceries and other staples, you can head south to a Stater Brothers, Ralph’s, Costco, Food 4 Less and Northgate Market.
When you’re done with your day’s activities, you’ll find lots of places to party at night. AMC Norwalk 20, Norwalk 8, Krikorian Premiere Theatres and the discount Starplex Cinemas La Mirada 7 are just some of the nearby multiplexes. Dining options abound, including Hungryboy Burgers, Valentino’s with its all-you-can-eat Italian buffet and Geezers, a golf-themed restaurant serving casual American fare. Stop by Maggie’s Pub for some beer and live entertainment or Senor Charlie’s Sports Bar for a drink with the locals.
Sunstone is located for easy freeway access. Interstate 5 has two entrances nearby at Pioneer Boulevard and Florence Avenue, which also leads to the 605. If you want to leave the driving to someone else, you can either park or get dropped off at the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Metrolink Station. The Orange County Line takes you all the way to Oceanside and the 91 Line to Riverside. Both lines take about an hour to reach Union Station in Los Angeles.
Schools are also conveniently nearby. Cresson Elementary is a short walk away. At Lakeland Elementary, enrichment activities include Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Drama Club and grandparent involvement. Santa Fe High School is either a 21 minute walk or 3-minute car ride away. It’s garnered several achievements including a California Distinguished School, Newsweek’s Top 1 Percent, and CIF Championships in wrestling and tennis.
