San Dimas – a Western Town in Southern California

One of the latest communities we’re in the process of rolling out is Saddle Creek. It’s located in San Dimas, a city nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County. The temperature is similar to a warm Mediterranean climate, and it’s known for hot, dry summers. During the winter snow settles on the San Gabriel Mountains for a pretty snow-capped view. The current population is around 35,000.
It was first explored in 1774 and then later developed in 1837. It became known as La Cienega Mud Springs because of nearby mud springs that were known as a healing place. In the late 1800s the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley Railroad arrived paving the area for local businesses and a new name…San Dimas. It became a thriving agricultural community producing wheat, oranges and lemons. Eventually it became a stop on historic old Route 66.
Today San Dimas is a booming city also known for its small town western appeal with plenty of equestrian facilities, and, in fact, its downtown plays homage to its western roots with wooden sidewalks and old-fashioned store facades. And another fun fact, San Dimas was the setting for Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure!
Home to Raging Waters – the place to cool down and one of the largest water parks in California – other attractions include Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park and the Pacific Railroad Museum. Its proximity to Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean, means there is no end to Southern California entertainment and adventures.
Brandywine Homes’ Saddle Creek neighborhood will consist of 28 masterfully designed detached homes ranging from approximately 2,735 to 3,745 square feet on three tree-lined cul de sacs.
