BRANDYWINE HOMES ACQUIRES 2.76 ACRES IN FULLERTON’S

Infill Developer Seeking City Approval for 52 Townhomes and Flats in Popular Established Urban Neighborhood

FULLERTON, Calif. – March 6, 2013 – Brandywine Homes has acquired 2.76 acres in the popular South Euclid-West Orangethorpe neighborhood and has asked for city approval to build 52 for-sale townhomes and flats.

The development is in a well-established, older urban area where the vast majority of homes were built in the post-World War II era from the 1940s through 1969. Solidly middle-class, the Euclid-Orangethorpe area is stable, ethnically diverse and centrally located.

If approved by the City Council, which is expected to consider building approvals at its next meeting on March 19, it would be Brandywine’s first new home community in Fullerton.

“The City of Fullerton has done an excellent job of revitalizing not only the downtown area, but the surrounding neighborhoods as well, with new shopping, restaurants and amenities,” said Dave Barisic, vice president of sales and marketing for Brandywine.  “We are happy to be a part of this resurgence and look forward to bringing some new and unique ideas in housing to the area.”

The three- and four-bedroom townhomes would range from 1,720 to 1,950 square feet. One of the floor plans includes an added casita with its own entrance, kitchenette, bedroom and living area – an ideal arrangement for extended family members.

The third-floor flats would be accessible by elevator.  All homes would come with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and energy-efficient tankless water heaters.

The site is convenient to Metrolink stations and minutes from trendy downtown Fullerton and the Brea Mall.  Disneyland is nearby, as are a number of golf courses, including Coyote Hills and Dad Miller Golf Course, where Tiger Woods learned to play.

The area is also home to award-winning public schools, and Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton City College are an easy drive.

Brandywine Homes, known for infill developments that integrate seamlessly into existing neighborhoods, hopes to break ground in May, with the first models open in November.  KTGY is the architect on the project.
