Community

Candlewood Villas is a community of 53 townhomes situated next to the picturesque Candlewood Country Club golf course. A labor of love for Brandywine, we worked with the country club to integrate the community seamlessly while allowing the new homeowners to benefit from all that the club has to offer including access to the restaurant and bar, driving range and pro shop.

Completed

October 2020. After a Grand Opening in August 2019, Candlewood Villas had brisk sales of almost 1 home per week.

Key Challenge

Brandywine Homes worked through entitlements with the County of Los Angeles for roughly 5 years prior to breaking ground at Candlewood Villas. This long process, however, resulted in a community all can be proud of.

Background

Candlewood Villas is built on land owned by the Candlewood Country Club, a portion of it housing the club’s golf cart storage area, or Cart Barn. As part of the agreement with the club, Brandywine constructed a new state of the art Cart Barn closer to the main club facilities.

Results

Candlewood Villas transformed under used excess land from the country club into a modern and affordable community for residents of Whittier and surrounding areas. Developing adjacent to the Candlewood Country Club golf course also added a little bit of scenic luxury that did not exist before.
